A footballing lesson and New Leader On Board

Today is the second of the three matches being played over the weekend. The home team’s attack we very youthful spearheaded by Izuddin and Khalik who went up against the might of Azmi and Reza, who were of course two of the most potent strikers the league have. It was to be a footballing lesson right from the beginning for the home team as the away team started the waves of attack from both flanks.

Anchored by the ever veteran defender Unc.Metali, the home team was struggling to open up the account. Midfield veteran, Abang was stopped time and time again by Unc.Metali and Co. The floodgate opened with Azmi pounding on the ball after running from the right with only Ben to beat. The combination of Azmi and Reza proved too lethal for the home  side as they conjured barrages of attack left, right and centre. Unc. Metali even got into the act with a clever cross shot that bounced luckily into the goal with Reza already waiting to tap in. Ariz scored two goals with a typical tap in courtesy of Reza. He wasted numerous chances to score.

The league has a new leader now. It was inevitable with the absence of Kazi and Jimbo due to international duty. Azmi took the leader board when he scored 7 goals. The second biggest to Kazi (when he scored 10 goals in 1 game), followed closely by Reza with 5 goals.

Here is the new score board:

1. Azmi – 32 goals

2. Reza – 29 goals

3. Kazi – 25 goals

4. Ben – 16 goals

5. Izuddin – 11 goals

6. Afif – 10 goals

7. Khalik – 10 goals

8. Abang – 10 goals

9. Ariz – 9 goals

10. Unc. Metali – 6 goals

11. Jimbo – 5 goals

12. O’Neil – 4 goals

13. Kilin – 2 goals

14. Alif – 1 goal
