3 a piece

Sunday’s game was a full blooded affair from the beginning until the end. The home side made up of brothers, sons and cousins was the first time in many games they played together. Abang was back in the team after a week absence. Ariz played upfront on attack often was drifting to the far right while Ben was reverted back to central defence to sure up things at the back. Azmi later joined to give the extra dimension on attack but often isolated with only Ariz in attack who gave little support.

The home team later added Afif now playing for the home team and Khalik who played as  a right back. The away team was always hungry for goals right from the beginning with the experience of Unc. Metali at the back. Kazi and Izuddin made sure the away team was balanced from midfield to attack. The away team later was joined by Jimbo and Reza.

It was the away team who drew first blood. Unc. Metali came up from defence to support the attack and was paid off with only Ben to beat. The home team took awhile to get things back into level term when Ariz, who again played as lone striker controlled the ball from Afif and he cooly slotted the ball into the empty goal. Izuddin then pounced on Reza’s cross from the left with his typical slide. The game looked to be one sided at times when the home team seemed to be running out of ideas in attack wih Unc. Metali marshalling the back line. It took some luck and pure brilliance once again from Afif who operated on the right as his shot went straight in for the home leveller. It was Afif again who got into the scoresheet for the second time when his cross sailed in for the third.

The away team piled the pressure to get the leveller and it seemd that they were heading for a loss  when Reza pounced in on a loose ball with only Ben to beat in defence.

MOTM: Khalik for his brave display in defence and important interception.
