positives from the junior team

Yesterday’s game saw the junior away side played a very convincing football yet again. The junior team twice took the lead through their duminitive striker Afif and Izuddin after some sloppy defending from the home side. The away team started off with an attacking mode with previous MOTM Waie keeping his position as centre half while Khalik moved to the left side for the first time in many games.

The home side had to come back from behind twice through Kilin and Azmi. Reza came on late and started to pull the strings from the middle of the park with his intuitive runs combining often with Afif upfront. The home side also carved a few chances with Azmi, Kilin, Unc.Metali and Ben exchanging passes but couldnt find a way through thanks to determined defending from Reza and Waie. Jimbo was back in contention after missing 2 weeks due to commitments elsewhere. He played most of the game with an injured toe which hampered his style of play. But it was Azmi once again who put the home side ahead for the 1st time in the game from the left flank. His shot flew past Waie in defense. The away side dug deep and once again Reza and Afif combining upfront to put the leveller when Reza’s cross from the middle was met by Afif on the half volley to slot the ball in pass Ben in goal.

But Ben played most part of the game on the right wing made amends to put the home side ahead again after Khalik failed to clear the ball and good pressure from Azmi. Ben only had to poke the ball in pass the helpless Waie to make it 4-3.

The junior away side made it hard for the home side as they put a brilliant display.

MOTM: Azmi – opened play and linking the game with the other players. He also managed to get 2 goals.
