Hard fought win

Posted on August 9, 2008. Filed under: Uncategorized |

The home team went back to winning ways after beating the away side by 3 goals to 1. The home team drew first blood only after a less than 30 seconds of play when Khalik who played on the left wing managed to deliver a perfectly weighted cross to an unmarked Ben who only have to divert the ball into the empty goal.

The away team came close in numerous occasions but the goal was marshalled astutely by Ben and Unc.Metali. Khalik and Kilin also contributed in defense. While Ariz played upfront on the right often floating in isolated positions. Ariz had a few chances on goal as well but poor control let him down. Kilin managed to score 2 more goals to put the home team in an assailant lead of 3-0.

The introduction of Kazi in the away team’s strike force didnt help much as he squandered a few chances in front of goal. The away team did managed to pull one back from their chief goal scorer Azmi. The home side threw bodies and let tackles flying all over the field to protect their lead until the end. The away side only resorted to blasting the shots from far but most were off targets.

MOTM: Ben – defended resolutely and organized the defense well.
